K.Y.P.S. (Kegel Youth Point Series) Season 5
Point System: Points will be awarded based on finishing position in the division. Points will be used for an invitational tournament to be held in June. Year end event will have added prize money that will be collected at each individual event.
(Participants only receive points in the events they compete in.)
5 Points for each person you beat plus your pinfall total will be your final points earned.
Divisions: The event will have 4 divisions:
Males ages 14-21 years old
Males 13 & younger
Females 14-21 years old
Females 13 & younger
The tournament is open to any USBC Member in good standing that is 21 and younger. Non sanctioned players will not be able to participate.
**Age is determined as of age on Aug 1**
Format: Bowl 6 games. Finishing place will be scratch score with all squads combined. Bowlers will move one pair to the right after each game. Lane assignments will be drawn at the time of check in. Some events will have a restriction on the equipment that is allowed to be used please be aware of these events!
Entry Fee: $45 ($20 Lineage, $14 Prize Fund, $6 Expenses, $5 Year End Prize Fund)
Jr. Gold Entry $30
CATS Printouts will be available for $5.
Walk ins will be charged an additional $5 Tournament expense fee.
Payment will be due the day of the event. We accept cash and credit cards only.
Scholarships: Prize money will be returned 100%. Scholarships will be paid out on a minimum of 1:8 ratio. Ties will split the combined money for the positions. All scholarships will be managed by SMART. Jr. Gold spots will be awarded based on entries at a 1:5 ratio.
Squad Times: 10 AM 3 PM
Check In will be 1 hour before squad time start. All participants should be checked in a minimum of 30 minutes before bowling starts.
Registration: Pre-registration is recommended and can be done via email Brent.sims@kegel.net or by signing up at the previous event. Emails should be received by the close of business on the Friday before. Anything received late Friday or on Saturday will not count! (all payments will be collected on site) We have a limited amount of space so walk ins will only be handled on a first come first served basis. All walk ins will be charged a $5 Extra Tournament Expense Fee.
Re entries will be permitted based on availability after all first entries have been assigned. In the event we have more reentries than space permits, spots will be given away in a lottery format. This means each bowler will be placed on a waiting list. After the number of available entries is known, numbers will be drawn permitting those players on the waiting list to reenter. Anyone forfeiting their spot after being drawn will be replaced by having another number drawn to replace them. No trading of spots will be allowed.
Behavior: Proper behavior is expected of all participants and spectators. Any abuse of bowling equipment or other outrageous behavior (such as swearing) will not be tolerated. Incidents will result in a verbal warning and/or disqualification. All decisions will be made by tournament management. All decisions are final! Any spectator behavior will be handled in the same manner.
Lane Conditions: Competition will take place on tournament lane conditions. Patterns will be posted on site at the time of competition. Note: Some tournaments will have special formats. Any variation from these formats will result in disqualification.
Dress Code: All dress should be appropriate for competition. Collared/Sport shirts. Appropriate means no holey jeans, no hats, no t shirts, and no visible under garments. Tournament management reserves the right to refuse entry based on dress.
Tournament management decisions are final.
